Noted Telugu lyricist Suddala Ashok Teja has been diagnosed with liver disease and has been admitted to a private hospital in Gachibowli on Thursday. As per reports, the National-award winning lyricist will be undergoing liver transplant surgery on Saturday evening.
Artiste Uttej who is Suddala’s nephew said, “He (Suddala) required blood donors and upon reaching out to Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust (CCT), they promised us that they will arrange blood for the surgery”. The lyricist condition is stable and been monitored continuously. It is learnt that his son Arjun will be donating a part of liver to his father.
Suddala is a native of Nalgonda district. He was born to Janakamma and Suddala Hanmanthu, who was also a poet. The lyricist has recently penned three songs for RRR (Roudram Ranam Rudhiram). His other songs – Nenu Saitham from Tagore, Aha Allari from Khadgam and Inumulo Oo Hrudayam Molichene from Robo are quite popular and earned him recognition.
