Suresh Kondeti’s Santosham South Indian Film Awards faced severe backlash on social media, triggering accusations toward the Telugu film industry and the Mega family, particularly Chiranjeevi and his relatives. The Telugu Film Chamber (TFCC) vehemently criticized the mismanagement of the Santosham Awards in Goa, deeming it a disgrace to the Telugu film sector.
KL Damodar Prasad, Secretary of TFCC, voiced concerns over the event’s chaotic organization, highlighting issues with hospitality, travel arrangements, unpaid bills, and power supply disruptions. The TFCC called for decisive actions to protect the industry’s dignity and reputation. Reports surfaced about disrespect shown to Kannada celebrities during the awards ceremony, with instances like lights being switched off during Ramesh Aravind’s presence and payment-related challenges during checkout for many Kannada actors. Social media witnessed a surge in anger, demanding industry unity and proposing future event boycotts.
Producer Allu Aravind distanced the Telugu film industry and his family from the controversy, emphasizing that the responsibility for the event lies solely with Suresh Kondeti. He clarified that the family’s association with Kondeti should not be construed as an endorsement or representation. In response, Suresh Kondeti issued an apology, acknowledging a communication gap during the event and expressing regret for any inconvenience caused.

According to a reporter’s account on X, a significant number of Kannada celebrities faced disrespect during the event. In her post, she stated, “The event, which commenced smoothly, came to an abrupt halt when it was the turn for the Kannada film industry to be honored with awards. The organizers turned off the lights as soon as Ramesh Aravind stepped onto the stage, leading the host to exit and instructing Kannada actors to leave.” Additionally, she highlighted that several celebrities encountered problems during the hotel check-out process due to unpaid dues.
Tollywood is yet to respond on this but looks like no celebrity will.
