The death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput has yet again brought to light about the hollowness the movie industry and holds beyond the glitz and glamour. While we tend to see only the money and fame of celebrities but we tend to overlook the shallowness it has, where mots of the things including relationships and friendships are superficial. Now, with the death of 32-year-old actor, it has resurrected yet again how over the years many such actor have taken their lives either with depression, anxiety or some other mental issues. Uday Kiran
The talented young actor was heartthrob of nay with his chocolate boy looks. With back-to-back hits, he even got the title of ‘hat-trick’ hero. However, fate has some other things for the young star. It was on the fateful day on January 5, 2014, he committed suicide by hanging himself at his flat in Srinagar colony. He was just 33-year-old at the time of his demise. It was said that with no movie offers and financial crunch for over an year made him to take such extreem step.
Silk Smitha
Silk Smitha had ruled the hearts of masses. With her sensuality and glamour she changed the phase of South cinema and was at the peak of her stardom. With having acted over 400 films, she was hailed as the Marlin Monroe of the Southern cinema. However, the actress was found dead at her apartment in Chennai on September 23, 1996. Although close to 25 years, till date no one knows the reason behind her death.
Vijay Sai
Comedian Vijay Sai was known for her comic roles who also played as sidekick to heroes as a friend. The 42-year-old actor died on December 11, 2017 in Hyderabad. The actors suicide was one sensational one as prior to his death he released his recorded video blaming his wife and others for demanded Rs 3 crore to settle divorce dispute and of harassment.
Fatafat Jayalaxmi
Jayalakshmi Reddy was only 22 at the time of her death. She was found dead by hanging herself from the ceiling. It was cited that an alleged failed romance made her to take such extreme step. She was a popular face in 70s and had acted with top-notch star and was known by her screen name Fatafat. In fact, when asked favorite actress, Rajinikanth named Jayalakshmi in 2008.
