Allampally Madhavi, hailing from Vanasthalipuram has accused Gandhi Hospital about her husband Madhusudhan who was undergoing treatment at the hospital. Her husband who works at a rice mill, the woman and their two children were admitted at Gandhi Hospital on on April 30 for Coronavirus.
The woman and the kids got discharged on May 16 after recovering from COVID. However, not seeing her husbadn along with them, she grew suspicious and raised alarm. Subsequently, she was informed by the health officials that her husband died of COVID on May 1. Not believing the officials say, the woman on social media went on to tag minister KTR informing her ordeal. However, Gandhi Hospital Superintendent M. Raja Rao in her statement said that Madhusudhan was admitted to the hospital on April 30 with positive diagnosis of Covid, his condition was serious due to bilateral pneumonia with ARDS, and he expired on May 1.
“All due procedures were followed. We sympathise with the family, but it is wrong to defame the hospital and doctors and other staff who are treating hundreds of corona cases risking their lives,” Raja Rao said. Meanwhile, Health Minister, Eatala Rajender on Thursday spoke on the issues stating, “Fearing that Madhavi’s health condition will further deteriorate on learning that her husband has died, close relatives of the family urged Gandhi Hospital doctors not to disclose the news to Madhavi. Based on the requests of the family relatives, the Gandhi Hospital doctors handed over Madhusudhan’s body to the police who later roped in GHMC staff to perform the last rites,
