Telangana chief minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao has announced that state will under lockdown untill March 31 in order to contain COVID-19. KCR at a high-level meeting at Pragathi Bhavan added that state borders will also be shut and complete transportation will also be stopped. “Everyone should stay at home till March 31. That is the only way to defeat coronavirus. Not more than five people can gather on the streets. Only one person should step out for buying groceries and other essentials,” KCR annoucned invoking the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897. Meanwhile, essentials like pharmacies, banks and groceries will remain open while others will be shut.

With five more testing positive for Coronavirus, KCR urged people to make their effort to curb the virus. “Again, all these people are with travel history – two each returned from London and Dubai and one from Scotland,” he said. The chief minister further added, “No vehicles including public and private transport buses as also private vehicles will be allowed into the State. Only trucks carrying essential commodities like milk and vegetables will be allowed to enter the State,” he said.
