Uppena is a film that has been stuck with its release. Even when so many makers decided to release their films on OTT, Sukumar decided to have a theatrical release. The film will be out soon and today, the makers have released the teaser, and let’s review it.
What works
The small town setup and the seaside locations are top-notch. The manner in which the hero and heroine are introduced looks good and honest. Vaishnav Tej looks impressive as the hero and his screen presence is very good. The beautiful visuals are an added bonus. But the heroine takes all the attraction on to her as she is beautiful, has a lovely voice, and also acts well. But, what makes the teaser tick is the music by DSP which is superb and gives an amazing feel to the visuals. 
What does not work?
Vaishnav Tej has a voice similar to his brother which can be a slight disadvantage in the days to come. Uppena has also been in news due to the presence of Vijay Sethupathi in it. But the makers have hidden him in the teasers and this should not have been done. I at least one visual of him would have been there, things would have worked even well. 
Conclusion
Uppena’s songs and visuals have already worked so nicely with the audience. Now, the teaser also lives up to the hype and gives us an idea that this small town love story is going to be pure and filled with neat emotions. In a nutshell, the teaser is impressive.
