Taraka Ratna’s personality is quite distinct compared to the other Nandamuri stars. Although he held a record for launching nine movies in a single go, his film career didn’t take off as he had expected.
The young teenager with chocolate-boy looks in the movie ‘Okato Number Kurraadu’, had made quite a mark in the hearts of Telugu audiences. Fans still swoon over his popular numbers like ‘Sanna Jaji puvva..’, Nemali Kannoda’, Orey nuvvu naaku nachuvuraa’, Nuvu Choodu Chudakapoo’ which were smashing those days.
After his unsuccessful journey in films, Taraka Ratna didn’t waste time. He soon made a lucrative business in the construction industry. He had turned into a construction builder, starting his dream venture in the sleepy village called Mokhila, now a bustling suburb adjoining the IT corridor of Hyderabad. That was how he started a housing project where he built a model villa in which his family resides now.
Later, he tested his luck by investing money in a quarry business in Andhra Pradesh. He earned good profits out of it. Of late, he had been closely making moves to take a plunge into mainstream politics. Thus he kickstarted his political career with the TDP. It may be recalled that he showcased his large convoy of vehicles at Nara Lokesh’s padayatra. The Fortuner SUVs and Tata Harriers showed strength during the padayatra. So he had serious plans to enter politics.
He thought he would win the Gudivada Assembly segment with the support that he got from either side. But on the fateful day of January 27, he collapsed with a heart stroke only to say goodbye forever.
