Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay who is basking in the success of his recent film Leo, has officially entered the realm of politics. Making the announcement on February 2 via his official X account (formerly Twitter), he revealed the name of his political party as Tamilaga Vetri Kazham.
Earlier reports mentioned his election as the party president, with approximately 200 members attending a meeting ahead of the party’s registration. The General Secretary and Treasurer have been appointed, and a Central Executive Committee is now in place.
Beyond his film achievements, Vijay has garnered attention for his philanthropy. In December 2023, he assisted flood-affected residents in Thoothukudi and Tirunelveli districts, distributing relief materials to families severely impacted by the floods. His charitable endeavors extend to free food distribution, educational scholarships, libraries, and legal aid.
Notably, on January 25, Vijay treated himself to a new luxury car, a BMW i7 xDrive 60 electric model, adding to his impressive car collection valued between Rs 2.13 crore to Rs 2.50 crore in India.
In the film industry, Vijay showcased his talent in two films in 2023, “Leo” and “Varisu.” Currently immersed in the shooting of his upcoming film, tentatively titled “Thalapathy 68,” directed by Venkat Prabhu.
