According to recent reports, RJ Balaji, who was initially writing a script for actress Trisha Krishnan, has reworked the story to suit actor Suriya as the lead. The movie, tentatively titled Suriya 45*, is said to be a divine fantasy film. This change is reportedly due to the decision to feature Suriya in the lead role instead of Trisha.
The original script was reportedly meant for a film called *Maasaani Amman*, which was rumored to have Trisha Krishnan as the lead. Sources claim that the movie will have similarities to *Mookuthi Amman*, a previous film directed by RJ Balaji and starring Nayanthara. However, since Suriya is now the lead actor, the script was altered to reflect this change, incorporating new elements into the storyline. Despite these reports, the filmmakers have yet to confirm these details.
The collaboration between RJ Balaji and Suriya was officially announced recently, with the release of a special poster for the film. The poster showcases several long sickles decorated with tilaks, with a single Vel (a spear) in the center. This visual suggests that the movie might have a divine or spiritual aspect, aligning with the fantasy genre.
RJ Balaji’s previous film *Mookuthi Amman* was a fantasy-comedy where a reporter encounters his ancestral goddess, who helps him expose fake godmen. The upcoming *Suriya 45* might follow a similar theme but with a different storyline and focus.
Meanwhile, Suriya is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated film *Kanguva*, directed by Siva. In *Kanguva*, Suriya will play a dual role, as the movie takes place across two different time periods. Actors Bobby Deol and Disha Patani, making their Tamil debuts, will star alongside him. The film is expected to release in theaters on November 14, 2024, and also features a strong supporting cast including Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, and Redin Kingsley.
