Superstar Rajinikanth hospitalized
Actor Rajinikanth was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai on Monday, September 30, for an elective medical procedure scheduled for October 1. Reports indicate that the 73-year-old actor is undergoing surgery to address the enlargement of a blood vessel near his abdomen. Although there has been no official statement from the hospital or Rajinikanth’s team, sources suggest that he had complained of stomach pain but is currently stable.
This is not the first time the superstar has dealt with health issues. In December 2020, Rajinikanth was hospitalised in Hyderabad due to severe hypertension and exhaustion. His health concerns at that time led him to cancel his political debut, despite previously announcing the formation of his political party earlier that month. The decision was influenced by the risk posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and his health condition. He was discharged after his blood pressure stabilised and was advised to take rest.
On the professional front, Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel, is eagerly awaited by fans and is set to release on October 10. The film marks a significant milestone in the actor’s career, as it is his 170th movie. Vettaiyan features an impressive cast, including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Ritika Singh, Manju Warrier, and Dushara Vijayan. The music for the film has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander, adding to the excitement surrounding the release.
Following Vettaiyan, Rajinikanth is also expected to appear in another major project titled Coolie, which will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Fans of the legendary actor are eagerly anticipating these releases, even as the star takes time to focus on his health.
Despite his recent health concerns, Rajinikanth continues to remain active in the film industry, with his iconic presence still captivating audiences worldwide.
