Hindi star, Akshay Khanna is back to doing films in Hindi. He is making his web debut with the film State of Seige-Temple Attack. Read our review to find out if the film has any juice or not.
Plot
The story is super simple. The famous Akshar Dham temple in Gujarat is attacked by five Pakistani terrorists. Things turn tense and the cops have no option but to bring in the NSG commandos into action. The army is headed by Major Singh(Akshay Khanna) and what heroics does he do to save the temple is the main plot.
Performances
The film is filled with all-new actors who are not that popular and that is where things go for a toss. The actors who play the terrorists are not that lethal at all and do not create any effect. So, it is automatically left on Akshay Khanna to hold the fort. He does well in the film but he too does not get much scope to showcase what he is capable of. But he does the action part impressively.
Analysis
Films on terror attacks are made so many times to date. What makes it different here is the location chosen which is good. The visuals and temple location are good. The aesthetics are also good but senior director, Ken Ghosh’s direction is not at all effective. He has rushed things to an extent that look-wise scenes are good but they do not create the impact.
The film is started well but once the halfway mark is approached, the film falls short of ideas. Things happen so easily for the NSG and the hostage situation is also not that great. The BGM helps a few scenes and the action part is good.
But in general, there is nothing that you have not seen that you have seen that is showcased. So, in all, State of Seige-Temple Attack is a film that has a few thrills here and there but falls short of creating an impact.
Bottom Line – Fails to Impress
