SSMB29: THIS actress in talks for lead role in Mahesh Babu’s film
Mahesh Babu’s highly anticipated project with director SS Rajamouli, tentatively titled SSMB29, is set to begin production in January 2025. Reports suggest that the makers are considering global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas for a leading role in the film.
According to Filmfare, discussions are ongoing with Priyanka for this ambitious project. The film, already surrounded by buzz, is rumored to include international actors in key roles, adding to its global appeal. However, there has been no official confirmation from the team about the casting.

The movie, described as a “global feature,” is expected to be a grand-scale adventure with a budget of around ₹900-₹1000 crores. Renowned writer Vijayendra Prasad, who is also Rajamouli’s father, shared earlier this year that the story took two years to develop. He hinted that the film will introduce audiences to an entirely new world in Indian cinema.
Reports also indicate that the film will be released in two parts. Additionally, there is speculation that the protagonist, played by Mahesh Babu, will draw inspiration from Lord Hanuman, adding a mythological dimension to this international action-adventure.
Mahesh Babu, last seen in Guntur Kaaram, is also contributing his voice to Disney’s upcoming film, Mufasa: The Lion. Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who starred in Love Again in 2023, has upcoming Hollywood projects like Heads of State and The Bluff.
