His recent box office hits, Dasara and Hi Nanna, have already cemented his position as a bankable star. Notably, Dasara, directed by Srikanth Odela, became Nani’s first film to cross the ₹100 crore mark, earning him a Filmfare Award for Best Actor. Currently, Nani is working on Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, directed by Vivek Atreya and co-starring SJ Suryah. The film is set for release on August 29. Amid the promotions, Nani made interesting remarks regarding Mahesh Babu’s strategic approach to entering the Pan-India market.
In an interview, Nani was asked why a superstar like Mahesh Babu chose to enter the Pan-India market with a film like SSMB29 by collaborating with director SS Rajamouli, and why Nani prefers to release most of his movies on a Pan-India scale.
In response, Nani explained that when he started his career, he was relatively unknown, while Mahesh Babu made his entry as a superstar with the blockbuster Rajakumarudu. Mahesh already had a massive fan base, allowing him to strategically choose the right project to expand into the Pan-India market.
Nani praised Mahesh Babu’s strategy, stating that taking the time to pick the perfect film is crucial for such a move. He acknowledged that Mahesh Babu’s approach is smart, as he chose SSMB29 to enter the Pan-India market. Nani added that he too aims to entertain a wider audience with each project, attracting viewers from different languages. He mentioned that he experimented with films that he believed had good stories.
“Mahesh Babu sir’s range is different, so he can crack the Pan-India market with a huge movie like SSMB29. But my range is different; I need to crack it little by little with each movie,” Nani added. His comments are now trending and sparking conversations among fans.
