It’s not every day that you hear about Telugu feature films getting officially selected for screening at foreign film festivals. While big-budget entertainers from the Telugu film industry have been ruling the roost at the box office all over the country, Muthayya, a Telugu indie feature film, caught netizen’s attention today on social media.
The first poster of the film was launched by Kajal Aggarwal earlier today on social media, and it showcases an elderly man staring at a big screen. The film has been selected for screening at the UK Asian Film Festival, one of the longest-running South Asian Film Festivals in Europe. The world premiere of the film will be held at Rich Mix, London on May 9.
K Sudhakar Reddy, who played an important role in Kotha Poradu, will be seen in the titular role, along with newcomer Arun Raj, Mounika Bomma, and Purna Chandra.
The film has been directed by Bhaskar Maurya, who’ll also be making his directorial debut with the film. Vrinda Prasad has produced the film under the Fictionary Entertainment banner, and Kedar Selagamsetty & Vamsi Karumanchi are presenting it under the Hylife Entertainment Pvt Ltd banner.
