Sivakarthikeyan’s Hero released in 2019 was a blockbuster hit. Directed by PS Mithran, the film showed Sivakarthikeyan playing a Super Hero avatar for the first time. Amidst lockdown, the film was aired on Television and got released on OTT platform. But the makers were left red-faced after the film was pulled down from OTT. Well, the reason behind its removal is plagiarism charges. Aspiring director Bosco Prabhu had accused the filmmaker of plagiarism. Subsequently, Madras High Court has issued an interim injunction to ban the film from its release on OTT platforms and other places.
Bosco film titled Vetri was registered with the South Indian Writers’ Association on 26.04.2017. He had said, “We incorporated many stories from newspaper articles and real-life incidents in the final script. They (Writers’ Union) are speaking only on the basis of the synopsis. We worked for 446 days on the film, and I have an entire audio recording of the process. It is my filmmaking Bible.”
