Veteran singer S. Janaki’s death hoax hit the social media Sunday evening. The news about her demise spread like a wildfire with many infact sending condolences tweet. To end the rumours, Janaki’s son Murali Krishna had issued statement saying that she went a minor surgery and is doing well. He urged the fans to stop spreading rumours.
Meanwhile, actor and filmmaker Manobala also took to Twitter and clarified, , “No…its wrong news..she got a minor operation..she s ok now.” Coming to her illustrious career, dubbed as the Nightingale of the South, she has sung over 45,000 songs in nearly 17 Indian languages. A popular singer in the South, she announced her retirement in 2017 with the Malayalam song Amma Poovinum from ’10 Kalpanaikal.
