Australian-Indian actor, model, and dancer Chandrika Ravi revealed her next movie on the birth anniversary of Silk Smitha. The film, named Silk Smitha, The Untold Story, will be directed by Jayaram Sankaran, known for his work on the Prime Video series Sweet Kaaram Coffee. Ravi shared a photo on Instagram dressed as Silk Smitha to mark the occasion.
In her announcement, Ravi expressed gratitude to Silk Smitha on her 63rd birthday, mentioning the support of Silk’s family in revealing her untold story.
Originally from Australia, Ravi later pursued her acting and modeling career in Los Angeles. She began her acting career in Tamil cinema with a ghost role in the 2018 film Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu. Her Telugu debut was in the 2019 film Chikati Gadilo Chithakotudu. However, she gained recognition with a special appearance in a song called Maa Bava Manobhavalu in Balakrishna’s film Veera Simha Reddy. Additionally, she is set to appear in an English project titled Bollywood to Hollywood.
Silk Smitha, an iconic figure in Telugu and Tamil cinema, worked in a few Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi films. Her fame escalated after her role as a cabaret dancer in the 1980 film *Vandichakkaram*.
