Normally, when a hero’s film flops, the market for his next film slumps. But, quite interestingly, this formula does not work for the satellite rights. The satellite rates might zoom up regardless of the success or otherwise of the earlier film. Take, for instance, Sharwanand. His Padi Padi Leche Manasu was a disaster.
The audiences rejected the film first-day first show. It was not even an average film. Now, Sharwa is doing another film under the direction of Sudheer Varma. Even before it’s given a title, the film’s market has gone down. The buyers seem uninterested. But, the satellite rights of the same film have been sold for a staggering Rs 8 crore. This is huge money and we wonder what made the channel to pay so much for the film.
