Shahid Kapoor has witnessed the biggest ever hit of his career with Kabir Singh, the remake of cult Arjun Reddy. Within the 13 days since its release, the film has collected a staggering Rs 200 crore mark in India. Starring Kaira Advani and helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who directed the original the film continues to roar at the box-office.
Overwhelmed by the response an give him the biggest ever hit, Shahd penned a heartwarming post thanking his fans. His post on Instagram reads, “Your love is so overwhelming words will always fall short. Thank you for understanding him forgiving him and loving him with all your heart. We all fall apart. And we all must strive to rise from our faults. To be better. To be wiser. To be kinder. He is flawed. So are we all. You didn’t judge him you experienced him. You understood him. I have never ever felt so thankful. The most flawed character I have ever played. Has become my most loved. Indeed indian cinema and the audience has come a long way. More power to brave choices.”
While the film got a thumping response from the audience, it was panned by critics. Reacting to the criticism, Shahid had said, “For me, now it is about putting a body of work behind, so that when people see that, they see a variety of work. The larger picture is important. I don’t get affected by ek-dedh mahine ke liye ye jo comments aate hai; that is not important (I am not affected by comments that will only last for one or one and half months).” Kabir Singh was released on June 21.
