Shaakunthalam is up for a release soon on April 14th and the makers have started the promotions much in advance. The film is a period drama and Samantha will be seen in the titular role.
When asked about her past and doing an item song like Oo Antava, Samantha said that the offer came to her at a time when she was going through separation and her ex-husband Chay and family asked her not to do the song.
Sam also says that she has gone through a lot these last eight months and her health had taken a toll now she is back with a bang and will do things her own way. She will next be seen in Khushi and Citadel Indian remake.
