Sarileru Neekevvaru a commercial entertainer resembling the late 80’s Chiranjeevi’s template with the latest political counters, social message, and Anil Ravipudi comedy punches. Mahesh Babu’s performance in the mass avatar, comedy and dialogues worked out well and treat for the fans. Vijayashanti’s role remembers Urvashi Sharada’s role something that one has seen in the late ’80s.
Devi Sri Prasad Background score is outstanding and the interval action block has good emotion. Bandla Ganesh entry scene reference to 7’o clock blade is good, but comedy is pretty average. Week climax for the image of Mahesh Babu, emotion is missing. It’s always challenging to execute an army background in the commercial template. Cinematic liberty is highly used. Prakash Raj’s performance is great, his character is routine. Rashmika is OK, has less mileage and looks too short for Mahesh. Sai Pallavi would have been a better choice.
Strengths: Mahesh Babu and Vijayashati performance, BGM, Action and Comedy scenes, and Anil Ravipudu dialogues (Train episode, Prakash Raj with his school teacher episode). The emotional scene between Vijayashanti and Mahesh Babu and the title song playing in the backdrop as a tribute to soldiers is good. Can watch for Super Star Mahesh Babu Performance.
