Samantha was coughing continuously while she was speaking to media persons the other day during the promotions of ‘Shakuntalam’.
Speaking to media persons on Wednesday, director Gunasekhar said that despite the team advising her to take complete rest she came to LB Stadium to meet fans.
“She was coughing badly the other day. It was not advisable to venture and go into public. But Samantha said she wants to promote the movie as it is her responsibility to do it as the lead actress. There was a massive crowd of 37,000 people at the L.B Stadium, she interacted with them for 40 mins. Even now she has not been able to come to press meets. If it was not for producer Dil Raju, none would have taken so much responsibility to promote it,” he added.
Gunasekhar said a special screening of ‘Shakuntalam’ is being held in Delhi where the top brass of the BJP leadership will watch the film in Hindi. Starring Dev Mohan as the male lead, the film boasts ensemble cast of Prakash Raj, Kabir Duhan Singh, Ananya Nagalla, Allu Arha among other actors. The film is slated to release in theatres on April 14.
