The highly anticipated OTT release of “Salaar” on Netflix has been confirmed with a remarkable deal of Rs 162 crore for digital rights in all five languages. Although the official release date is yet to be confirmed, there is speculation that the film might premiere on Netflix in January, possibly coinciding with Sankranthi on January 12. However, no official announcement has been made by the filmmakers or Netflix.
The massive digital deal sets a new record as the highest-ever OTT deal for a South Indian film, adding to the buzz around the movie following its successful theatrical release on December 22. Directed by Prashanth Neel, Salaar: Ceasefire – Part 1 boasts a star-studded cast, including Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Tinnu Anand, Easwari Rao, and Sriya Reddy, among others.
While rumors circulate about a potential January release on Netflix, fans are also looking forward to the television premiere on the Star Maa channel. The film has already made a significant impact at the box office, earning an impressive Rs 90 crore on its domestic premiere day and reaching a global total of Rs 178 crore.
With a reported budget of Rs 270 crore, “Salaar” has become a box-office powerhouse, accumulating a total of Rs 391 crore to date at the domestic box office.
