Sai Pallavi’s psychological thriller tops OTT chart
Psychological thrillers are a unique genre that attracts audiences who want something different. The Malayalam film industry is known for delivering remarkable psychological thrillers. One such film, Athiran, is available to watch on Disney+ Hotstar.
Athiran was released in 2019. It stars Fahadh Faasil and Sai Pallavi in lead roles. The cast also includes Atul Kulkarni, Renji Panicker, Shanthi Krishna, and Sudev Nair in key roles. Prakash Raj appears in a special cameo. The movie was directed by Vivek and produced by Raju Mathew. The story has similarities with the 2014 Hollywood film Stonehearst Asylum.

Director Vivek made his debut with this film. He mentioned that the idea came from real-life events. He got inspired after visiting a Kalari school in Thrippunithura, Kerala. He saw autistic students performing as skillfully as other students at the school.
Fahadh Faasil plays the role of a doctor in Athiran. He recently appeared in Pushpa 2: The Rule. The movie earned over ₹1000 crore within two weeks. Fahadh played the antagonist Bhanawar Singh Shekhawat in the Pushpa series. He received praise for his performance. Fahadh will soon debut in Bollywood with a film directed by Imtiaz Ali. Triptii Dimri will star opposite him. Production will start in early 2025.
Sai Pallavi is the female lead in Athiran. She was last seen in the Tamil film Gargi in 2022. Her next project is with director Chandoo Mondeti. She will act alongside Naga Chaitanya.
