Rajinikanth, the iconic actor who has ruled the South Indian film industry with his swag, style, and charisma, is ready to entertain with a new movie called Jailer, which is scheduled for a massive release on August 10, 2023. Tamannaah Bhatia is the lead actress in the film.
However, the movie has been facing trouble. Despite its star-studded cast and Rajinikanth’s immense popularity, no distributors are coming forward to purchase the Telugu rights.
One of the reasons for this is the lack of proper buzz surrounding the film, and the fact that the director’s last film, Beast, received mixed results at the box office.
To be honest, Rajinikanth’s last four films also have failed to make profits for the makers and distributors, which is why even bigwig distributors in Tollywood are hesitant to purchase the rights. If this trend continues, the makers may have to release the film directly or sell the rights to someone for a lower price.
Jailer also features Jackie Shroff, Shiva Rajkumar, Nagendra Babu, Ramya Krishnan, Sunil, Vasanth Ravi, and Yogi Babu, and is being produced by Sun Pictures. Anirudh Ravichander is the music director.
