RRR Movie Review

RRR has been in the making for so many years now. After getting postponed twice, the film is out in the open in multiple languages. Read on to see if the film has any juice in it or not.

Plot

A small girl from a tribal village is captured by the British. To rescue her, the villagers approach Bheem(NTR). He lands in disguise in Delhi and befriends a cop Ram(Ram Charan) who is also on a secret mission. But destiny strikes as Bheem and Ram turn enemies midway. How they change gears, understand their goals and join hands to fight the British is the story of RRR.

Performances

Ram Charan gets an intense role and surprises us with his maturity. His character has to hide so much and Charan does with ease. He is superb as the intense cop and takes on NTR like never before. Charan’s performance in the interval block is very good and will impress his fans in a big way.

NTR is known for his outbursts and he does the same in RRR. Rajamouli has given him a role where he needs to explode on screen and NTR does just that. His dialogue delivery and the way he acts with his intense eyes in the interval and climax part is superg. NTR is especially good in the scene where is being punished by the British.

Alia Bhatt has nothing much to do apart from two or three scenes in the film. But still, she looks good as a Telugu girl. Ajay Devgan does not create much of an impact and his episode is a bit dull. Rahul Ramakrishna, Olivia Morris and others do their supporting roles quite effectively.

Analysis

Rajamouli is one director who knows the pulse of the audience completely. That is the reason, he narrates RRR in a supremely emotional manner. The way he starts the film gives you a high right away. Not wasting the time, he introduces the characters in a splendid manner setting the ball rolling for the fans.

The way he brings in the characters of Ram and Bheem and the way they become friends looks nice. In all this, the patriotic emotion that is shown in the backdrop is very good. Adding to this, Keeravani’s BGM only elevates each scene.

Rajamouli knew that fans would come in expecting fireworks from both the heroes and he gave them plenty. The interval block is astonishing and the manner in which the star heroes take on each other is just mind blowing.

In all this, there are also scenes that make the film go down a bit. Ajay Devgan’s track was not that necessary for the film and it looks a bit forced in the narrative. Alia Bhatt and Charan’s love track is left behind disappointing the fans.

Also, the way Rajamouli keeps giving action blocks time and again is what makes RRR look so good. The visuals, setwork, production design and camera work are so amazing and the film looks quite rich in every episode.

RRR is surely not Rajamouli’s best work to date but he makes sure that he reaches the expectations of the audience to the fullest. Fans of Charan and NTR will have a blast and the general audience will enjoy the solid emotions hereby making RRR one hell of a hit at the box office.

Bottom Line – NTR-Charan bromance at its best
