Filmmaker Venkatesh Maha made an impressive debut with C/o Kancharapalem, the film which left all sections impressed. Now, he is back with another offbeat film, Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya starring Satyadev and debutant Roopa Koduvayur. The makers recently unveiled a song which introduces actress Roopa. Elated over this, she took to social media thanking the team for giving her a break. She went on to thank her co-star Satyadev too for being supportive throughout the film. At times where Telugu actresses have become a rarity to watch out on screen, Roopa says that director Venkatesh Maha and producer Paruchuri Praveena were keen to cast a Telugu girl.
She wrote, “JYOTHI #Umamaheswaraugrarupasya Finally here’s the thing that I’ve been holding hardly from a long time..Thankyou Venkatesh Maha sir and vijayapraveena mam for making me a part of this wonderful journey…. I still remember ur words during the audition day that We used to have alot of telugu actresses in films till late 90’s & gradually the number went down.. So u wanted to cast telugu people in ur films and bring back that lost glory ..!! Will be indebted to both of u.” (sic)

Sharing screen with Satyadev
Ask her about working alongside Satyadev, she reveals about the snippet she had with her friends. She said, “When I told my friends that I’m gonna share screen space with Satya Dev they were excited & at the same time scared me that it’s gonna be a tough job for me to act beside an actor like u but u never gave me that feel and Yaa… It’s true he’s really a master in switching between characters..Tqq for being so nice and supportive all through the film satya sir.. Glad to work with u!!” (sic)
For the unversed, Roopa hails from Vijayawada, who is a medico. She is also a professional classical dancer.
