In the second ODI against Sri Lanka, Skipper Rohit Sharma hit an unbeaten double century scoring 208 runs off 153 balls that was studded with 13 fours and 12 sixes. His blitzkrieg lead India to its biggest score in the series – 392 for the loss of 4 wickets. The visitors failed to chase the mammoth score and faltered at 251/8 in 50 overs giving India one of its biggest win after the bitter loss in the first ODI.
Skipper Rohit Sharma was the charm of the day. This ODI was very special for him because it was his 2nd marriage anniversary, and his wife Ritika was present at the stadium to cheer and support him. For her it was a very emotional moment when Rohit hit the double century, and raised the bat towards her as a gesture. The lensmen captured the heart-tugging moment where Ritika acknowledged Rohit’s gesture with moist eyes for having made her day very special.
And this win is a wonderful gift from Indian cricket team to the newly-wed couple Virat and Anushka who got married on Monday in Italy.
It was such a lovely feast to watch another cricket love story on the field.
