Robinhood review and rating:

Nithiin and Sreeleela’s heist comedy Robinhood hit the screens with high expectations. Directed by Venky Kudumula, the film blends humor and action but falls short in key areas. Does it live up to the hype? Read the review to find out.

Story:
Ram (Nithiin), an orphan, grows up witnessing hunger among his fellow orphans. To help them, he starts stealing from the rich using clever tactics and shares the wealth with the needy. Meanwhile, a dangerous villain (Devadatta Nage) wants to expand his illegal marijuana trade globally. His focus is on a special variety grown in Rudrakonda village. Reena Vasudev (Sreeleela), the daughter of AV Pharma’s head in Australia, also reaches the village. How are these events connected? What role does the international drug mafia play? The film unfolds these mysteries.

Technical Aspects:
Production values are decent, but some VFX moments, like artificial blood stains, stand out. GV Prakash Kumar’s music is good, and the cinematography is effective. Editing could have been sharper to maintain the film’s flow.

Venky Kudumula crafts an engaging story but follows a familiar template. While the emotional depth adds weight, the predictable drug cartel theme makes some scenes feel routine.

Analysis
Venky Kudumula delivers his signature mix of comedy and emotions. The first half is filled with hilarious moments, while the second half offers an emotional touch. Nithiin shines with his effortless comedy and stylish action sequences. His chemistry with Sreeleela and Rajendra Prasad adds charm.

Devadatta Nage impresses as the antagonist, and David Warner’s cameo adds an interesting twist. Supporting actors like Vennela Kishore and Subhaleka Sudhakar enhance the humor and drama.

While the film is entertaining, the screenplay slows down in the second half. Some characters disappear for long stretches, affecting the narrative flow. The villain, initially strong, feels weak towards the climax. The humor, which works well in the first half, fades in the later parts. Additionally, a couple of songs disrupt the pacing.

Verdict:
Robinhood offers a mix of humor and action with a decent storyline. Nithiin and Devadatta Nage deliver solid performances, and Venky Kudumula’s comedy works well. However, a tighter script and better pacing could have elevated the film further. It remains an entertaining watch for those looking for a fun, lighthearted movie.
