Actor Rhea Chakraborty, who was embroiled in the controversy of the Sushant Singh death case, is all set to make her comeback to the big screen. Rhea will soon be seen in Rumy Jafry’s ‘Chehre’ which also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi. Rhea’s absence from the film’s first posters left fans wondering if she was dropped from the thriller, however, the actor’s split-second appearance in the trailer ended all notions around her removal.
Recently, in an interview, Rumy Jafry had said that people who are planning to watch the movie for Rhea will be disappointed. He also averred that the main focus of the film is the duo of Amitabh and Emraan. While speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Rumy said, “To be honest, she doesn’t have that much to do in Chehre. So those who go to see my film in the hope of getting a good look at Rhea are in for a disappointment. The main focus of interest is Bachchan Saab and Emraan’s jugalbandi. Their interaction is what gives the film its tense appeal.”
Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra flat on June 14 last year. His demise led to a turn of events wherein Rhea and her family was blamed for his death, not just by SSR’s family, but a large section of the media as well. Rhea and her brother, Showik Chakraborty were even sent to judicial custody in the Sushant Singh Rajput drugs case. After a social media hiatus, Rhea is gradually making her presence felt on Instagram. Rumy Jafry has also clarified that since Rhea is still healing from her trauma, he will not be exposing her to the media just yet. “Abhhi woh apne haadse se nikal hi rahi hai…She’s just getting out of her trauma,” he said. Before SSR’s death, Rumy and he were working on a project together that also starred Rhea. The director has said that if things fall into place, he will bring back the movie and will star another hero in it. Despite him being skeptical about signing Rhea for another film, Rumy says will definitely do it.
