Plot
Super Over is based on the lives of three friends played by Naveen Chandra, Chandni Chowdary, and Rakendu Mouli. They choose the wrong path of cricket betting and win big money. But in like any other story, the villain creates a problem. In this film, it is a bookie who creates issues. Upon this, the cops are after these friends. How do they escape all these issues is the summary of Super Over.
Performances
Where was Chandni Chowdary hiding all these days? She has turned a big leaf in her career with Color Photo and has got solid confidence in herself which is showing through her performances. She does not get to do much here but her expressions and screen presence are themselves enough to make things look good. Naveen Chandra is a very underrated actor who is doing some different roles now in Telugu. He has done well here with his tense attitude and cunning looks. Rakendu Mouli who plays the other friend is okay but overacts in a few scenes. Ajay, the seasoned actor brings depth to his cop’s role.
Analysis
Let’s start by saying that Super Over is a crisp film with just one and half hours of runtime. So, this does not allow you to get bogged down much. Also, the story is racy that things happen in a single night and are narrated convincingly. One has to feel for director Praveen who is no more and could not fulfill his dream. He was a great talent and glimpses of it are seen in the film and its pace.
The story idea is contemporary and suits the nativity perfectly. The film is fun and suspenseful at the same time which is nicely brought into the story. If not for the basic logic which goes missing at times, the rest of the scenes are natural and flow at ease. Dialogues for key characters are amazing. 
The film happens in one night and the visuals are pretty good. Praveen Varma’s screenplay is a boost and it is also a savior for all the negative aspects of the film. In a nutshell, Super Over is a film that can be savored without any hiccups due to its runtime and intelligent screenplay.
