Performances:

Siva Karthikeyan does a neat job as both SK and Remo. In fact, he looks good as Remo than SK. This will definitely be a good debut for him in Telugu. Keerthi Suresh impresses in the role of a nurse. She was good in comedy sequences as well as in the emotional scenes. Sharanya shines in the role of hero’s mother. Rest of the cast did justice to their roles.

Thumbs up:

  • Siva Karthikeyan
  • Comedy
  • Music
  • Cinematography
  • Interval bang

Thumbs down:

  • Dragged second half
  • Editing
  • Routine story

Technical and overall analysis:

In spite of being a debutant, director Bakkiyaraj Kannan did a commendable job. Though the story is quite old, he manages to impress with an engaging screenplay. The Younger generation will get connected to the story. The major highlight of this film is cinematography. PC Sreeram’s visuals bring the richness to the film. The lighting during the interval sequence proves his caliber. His inclusion is a big addon for the film. Anirudh’s music is good and so is the background score.

Remo is basically an old wine served in a new bottle. But it will entertain the audience well. The first half moves at a good pace with some nice comedy and romantic scenes. The scenes featuring Siva Karthikeyan and Saranya were well executed and they work well on screen. But the second half is a bit dragged to an extent. It could’ve been edited. Overall, Remo is a clean entertainer which caters to both the youth and the family audience.

One-line verdict:

Decent Rom-Com
