Anu Chandra(Kriti Kulhari) is a rich lady who is having some issues with her husband Bikram Chandra(Jisshu Sen Gupta). One fine day, the couple indulge in lovemaking and suddenly Anu stabs her husband and leaves the house. She is later caught by the cops and thus starts a criminal case on her. Anu is supported by her lawyer Madhav Mishra(Pankaj Tripathi). How does he save her is the whole story of the series.
Kriti Kulhari has been mostly seen in glam roles to date but things have changed with this film as she showcased what a crazy and super actress she is. Kriti does well as the pregnant lady and was amazing in the climax courtroom scenes. But like always, the series belongs to Pankaj Tripathi, who once again wins hearts with his settled performances. This time, he is married and also carries the baggage of domestic tensions. All his scenes with Kriti in the court are very good. Jisshu Sen Gupta is neat in his negative role and so was Deepti Naval as the rich mom.
The series is a courtroom drama that has a lot of confrontations. It is narrated on a slow note and things unfold one after the other. The first two episodes are amazing as the crime scene is showcased in a lovely manner raising curiosity for the audience. The case of domestic violence is nicely brought into the script in the end. How the jails in India are handled and what happens in them is showcased so naturally.
