In recent times, there has been a growing sentiment in Tollywood that remakes are often met with skepticism, especially after recent remakes like Pawan Kalyan’s Bro, Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar and God Father turned out to be a disaster. Despite this, Nagarjuna’s Naa Saami Ranga, is venturing into the realm of remakes and is all set for release on 14th November on occasion of Sankranthi season.
Director Vijay Binny addresses the concerns, asserting that Naa Samiranga is not a typical remake. He said that they have just borrowed a concept from the original movie but have undergone a complete transformation to align with Telugu people’s cultural tastes. Going by the teaser and trailer, modifications tailored for the Sankranthi season further differentiate it from its source material.
Binny dismisses the notion of visible similarities between the original and Naa Saami Ranga, challenging the conventional understanding of a remake.
He describes the collaborative effort with the writer, highlighting a deliberate departure from the original movie treatment. The director said that the original Malayalam movie received a response of being slow-paced but assured that Naa Saami Ranga won’t encounter such issues.
Also, the rapid completion of Naa Saami Ranga has triggered criticism, with some suggesting a rushed production. In response, Binny defends the efficiency, saying that while shooting progressed swiftly, substantial time was invested in pre-production. He confidently invites viewers to judge the film on its merits, promising that the final product reflects the excellent groundwork done behind the scenes.
