Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja, faced disappointment with his recent film ‘Tiger Nageswara Rao.’ While the film’s outcome wasn’t satisfactory, releasing it during the competitive Dasara season also impacted its performance, which distributors acknowledged. Had the film been released without competition, it could have fared better and entered the safe zone.
In light of this, the team behind Ravi Teja’s next pan-Indian project, ‘Eagle,’ is reevaluating their release plans for the upcoming Pongal season. The film might struggle with strong competition from Mahesh Babu’s ‘Guntur Karam.’ Besides Mahesh’s film, Venkatesh’s ‘Saindhav,’ Vijay’s ‘Family Star,’ Teja Sajja’s ‘Hanu-Man,’ and Siva Karthikeyan’s ‘Aayalan’ are also set for release during the festive season. The ‘Eagle’ team faces tough competition.
The Republic Day could be a viable alternative for the film, coinciding with Ravi Teja’s birthday. However, films like Hrithik’s ‘Fighter’ and Vikram’s ‘Thangalaan’ are also slated for release on the same day. Since these are dubbed films, there might not be a significant issue, but securing enough theaters for ‘Eagle’ could be challenging.
If any of the films opt-out of the Pongal race, they might consider the Republic Day weekend. Currently, the ‘Eagle’ team has not made a final decision, but sources suggest that Ravi Teja has pointed to the example of ‘Tiger Nageswara Rao’ to emphasize the need for a careful release date choice. People Media Factory is producing the film, with cinematographer-turned-director Karthik Gattamaneni directing it. The main cast includes Anupama Parameswaran, Navdeep, Kavya Thapar, Madhubala, and others. TG Vishwa Prasad is the movie’s producer, with Vivek Kuchibhotla serving as co-producer.
The film, written and directed by Karthik Gattamneni, features a screenplay penned by the director alongside Manibabu Karanam. The music is composed by Davzand, and Srinagendra Tangala is the production designer. Karthik Gattamneni is also responsible for editing and cinematography.
