Rashmika Mandanna has landed in trouble. The Geetha Govindam actress has hurt the sentiments of a section of Karnataka people by her comments at the Dear Comrade promotions.
Rashmika has said that Dear Comrade was only planned in Telugu but to dub it in other languages was decided later. When the scribe said that it would have been easy to recite dialogues in Kannada as she hails from Karnataka, she quips, “No” adding, “adu kastam….yenaku aa language correct agi varaadungaa (it is also difficult…I cannot speak any language correctly).” This didn’t go down well with a section of people and no sooner veteran Kannada actor Jaggesh called out Rashmika for alleged anti-Kannada comment.
“There are many friends of mine who have earned the love of other language audience after starting their career in Kannada. To date, they speak and respect the language which shows our culture. It is unfortunate that the younger generation does not possess those qualities. Remember, it is the applause from Kannadigas that made you a star [sic],” the rough translation of Jaggesh’s tweet read.
