Does Netflix oblige to the requests made by audiences? Even if it does, it should probably close its business.
‘Rana Naidu’, the Telugu-Hindi web series on Netflix has attracted so much negativity due to the portrayal of grey characters. Venkatesh, who usually does family-oriented, good-looking roles in Telugu, has broken the mould. He was seen using expletives in the film, which are deemed ‘A’ rated dialogues. So the web series has attracted widespread criticism on social media.
Many users felt that they couldn’t imagine Venkatesh speaking such language ever. Daggubati fans were all disappointed with his character. Fans fumed that they were not able to watch the series along with their family because of the language and muted dialogue in the film
Some of the fans also wanted Netflix to remove the series from its platform. At least the Telugu version audio file from the platform. But Netflix means business, it doesn’t care if audiences’ sentiments are hurt or anything that people keep writing on social media. It mints money big time. And ‘Rana Naidu’ continues to remain in the top ten on Netflix.
