Kodi Ramamurthy Naidu might be a lesser-known personality for any youngster of this generation, but the life and times that he lived in are worth making a biopic now.
Hailing from Andhra Pradesh’s Veeraghattam in northern region of Vizianagaram, Naidu challenged the British Viceroy and revolted against the imperial British rule in India. He also liberally donated millions of rupees for India’s struggle for Independence.
Now that is all past. The news is that Megapower Star Ram Charan will be playing the reel life of this famous wrestler on the screen. Ram Charan is the best fit to play the role, feels the director Buchibabu Sana.
After the completion of ‘Game Changer’, Ram Charan will be doing a film under the direction of Buchibabu, the ‘Uppena’ fame director. So, he wrote a story, supposedly a sports drama, taking inspiration from the life of Indian Hercules Kodi Ramamurthy.
Today’s audience may not know who Kodi Ramamurthy is. Naidu earned the name Kaliyuga Bhima for his physical prowess in arm wrestling back in the 1880s.
He also had set up a circus company and performed in foreign countries. With fame, he earned foes who made attempts to kill him. But he survived them. With the money he earned from the circus, Naidu donated to India’s freedom struggle.
