Superstar Rajinikanth and director Nelson Dilipkumar, known for the movie ‘Beast’, are collaborating on a new project called ‘Jailer’, an action comedy drama. Tamannaah Bhatia plays a significant role in the film.
However, the movie has encountered an issue with its title. It turns out that there is already another movie with the same title, and it was registered by Malayalam director Sakkil Madathil with the Kerala film chamber back in 2021. Sakkil Madathil has even completed his movie, and the title was recently launched in Sharjah, where Kamal Haasan was present.
As a result, Sakkil Madathil is now appealing to the makers of Rajinikanth’s movie to change its title to the Malayalam version. He has also taken the matter to the Madras High Court, and the hearing is scheduled for August 2nd, just eight days before the film’s release.
It remains to be seen how Sun Pictures, the production company, will respond to this issue. Whether Rajinikanth will consider changing the title or not will be known very soon
