The recent Lal Salaam audio launch at the Sri Sairam Institute of Technology in Chennai showcased more than just the unveiling of music. Superstar Rajinikanth, popular for his impactful speeches, took center stage to clear the air about a previous controversy involving Thalapathy Vijay.
Addressing the crowd, Rajinikanth clarified that the ‘crow-eagle’ story he shared at the ‘Jailer’ audio launch was not directed at Vijay. Expressing his unwavering support for Vijay’s political journey, Rajinikanth said that they are not competitors but well-wishers. He shared anecdotes from the past, recalling Vijay’s growth from a 13-year-old during the shooting of Dharmathin Thalaivan to the massive star he is today. Rajinikanth urged fans not to indulge in comparisons that could breed unnecessary rivalry.
Addressing the social media wars, he said, “The story of a crow and eagle was interpreted differently. On social media, many spread rumours saying it was against Vijay. It’s so disappointing. Vijay grew up in front of my eyes. During the shooting of Dharmathin Thalaivan, he was just 13 years old and looked at me from upstairs. After the shooting, SA Chandrasekar introduced Vijay to me and said that he was interested in acting. He asked me to tell Vijay to concentrate on his studies first. I advised him to complete his schooling. Vijay then became an actor, and now he’s at the top because of his discipline, hard work and talent. He is going to politics next. It feels said to hear that there’s competition between us. Vijay had said that he is his competition and I have also stated the same. It’s disrespectful to say that we are each other’s competition. I’d request our fans not to compare”
Meanwhile, a particularly heartwarming moment unfolded as Rajinikanth spoke emotionally about his daughter, Aishwarya Rajesh. He expressed the immense joy parents experience when desiring a girl child, stating that asking for a girl is akin to receiving God in the form of a baby girl. Talking about her daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth, Rajini said, “If someone asks for a boy child, God simply grants them their wish. But when they ask for girl child, the parents will get GOD in the form of baby girl’
Rajinikanth will be seen next in his daughter Aishwarya Rai’s upcoming film, Lal Salaam, which will release in theaters on February 9. The actor is also shooting for director TJ Gnanavel’s Vettaiyan, which is likely to hit cinemas this year end. He is also busy with Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Thalaivar 171.
