SS Rajamouli made a significant announcement regarding his latest project, a biographical film centered around the founding figure of Indian cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke. Interestingly, Rajamouli disclosed that he will be overseeing the production of the film rather than directing it himself.
Titled ‘Made in India,’ this cinematic endeavor promises to narrate an epic tale on a grand scale.
However, the choice of the film’s title raised eyebrows among netizens. Given ongoing speculations about the potential renaming of the country by the BJP government, many social media users suggested that the film be titled ‘Made in Bharat’ instead.
As Rajamouli shared the news online, a chorus of voices called for the film to bear the name ‘Bharat.’ Taking to Twitter on Tuesday morning, the director expressed his heartfelt emotions, stating, “When I first encountered the narrative, it stirred me emotionally like nothing else. Crafting a biopic is already a formidable task, but envisioning one about the PIONEER OF INDIAN CINEMA presents an even greater challenge. Our team is fully prepared and enthusiastic for this endeavor…:) With immense pride, I present to you ‘MADE IN INDIA’ (sic).”
