Performances
Prabhas has played but lover boy roles in the past but now times have changed. He still manages to look young and creates an impact with his performance. He has been styled nicely and that exuberates on his face. Krishnam Raju gets a respectable role and all his scenes with Prabhas are quite good.
Pooja Hegde is very good and has been given ample scope to perform and she is very good. She gets the best scenes and handles her part well. Murali Sharma gets a few scenes. Bhagyashree and Kunal Roya Kapoor do not get anything to do. Sachin Khdekar is just about okay.
What’s Good
Prabhas-Pooja Hegde chemistry
Interval bang
What’s Bad
Lack of emotions
Dull narration
Slow pace
Lack of proper conflict
Analysis
For any love story to click, there should multiple romantic and fun moments in the film. But sadly, there is nothing of that sort happening. Apart from the few romantic scenes, the led pair do not have much time to do anything that stands apart. Also, the songs of the film are also quite disappointing. They do not register on you one bit and this takes the love story down in no time.
Radha Krishna has directed the film and he has not made use of a big star like Prabhas. There was absolutely no need to complicate the love story in such a manner. The climax is outward silly and looks fake. There is no emotion between the lead pair and so called tension is not created at all.
The saving grace is Thaman’s BGM and solid art direction. If Radhe Syam looks good on screen it is because of the production design. The manner in which the costumes are designed are also very good and give this period love story a new angle. The makers say that they have spent 300 crores but there is nothing much visible in the visuals.
Radhe Shyam’s trailer indicated that there will be nothing new that will be showcased her. In the end, it ends as a very ordinary love story and disappoints the fans. The film will take a good opening but from there only destiny which is key in the film needs to save it. Will it happen, wait and watch.
Bottom Line – Pale and Boring
