The custom-made costume was designed by Ralph Lauren and keeping in mind of the event’s theme – Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination -, the designer came up with the stunning strapless velvet gown.

You would be shell-shocked to know that it took nearly 250 hours to design this as it carried intricate Swarovski crystals, meticulous beadwork. “This Ralph Lauren creation is completely crafted by hand, with Swarovski crystals, meticulous beadwork, and over 250 hours of embroidery,” the statement read.
Not just from ace designers from India, but Quantico star was also given the best rating from foreign media, too. The Variety magazine’s Twitter read, “Priyanka Chopra smoulders at the Met Gala” while Access Online reviewed her look as, “The Met Gala is just getting started, but the stunning Priyanka Chopra already deserves to be crowned one of the best dressed of the night.
Meanwhile, TIME magazine wrote, “The dress was a definite departure from the trench coat ensemble with a cathedral train that she wore to last year’s Met Gala (although they were both designed by Lauren) which captured the whimsy of the Internet and inspired countless memes.”
