Bollywood beauty Priyanka Chopra after ruling Hindi cinema has made herself into global icon with her prolific work and commitment which is rare to see an Indian actress finding foot in Hollywood. The Desi Girl was in news for her multimillion dollar deal with Amazon for television shows. While she is being hailed as successful and scripting history, there was a time when Priyanka was written off.
Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha hailing Priyanka’s achievements recalled an old article which predicted Priyanka’s future as failure. “I am so reminded of a Bombay Time front page article that wrote her off saying how NO ONE would touch her from a barge pole. Yeah… No one can,” Anubhav wrote in a tweet. Priyanka thanking him, quickly replied, “Thappad nahi.. kaam se maaro(Hit them with you work, not with slaps).. lol. Thank you @anubhavsinha for the support.”
Speaking about her deal, she said, “My quest really is to be able to tell female stories, work with creators from around the world and create a cross-pollination of storytelling. Amazon is such a great partner to do that because their reach and outlook is so global. My Amazon television deal is a global deal, so I can do Hindi language, I can do English language, I can do whatever language I want.”
