‘Kalki 2898 AD‘ is an upcoming science fiction film directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies known for being the most expensive film ever made in India with a budget of Rs 600 crore. Bookings for the movie began on June 23 in Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka while bookings in Kerala opened on June 24. Within the first day of bookings, the film earned Rs 5.2 crore, excluding earnings from Kerala.
Meanwhile, there has been considerable discussion about Prabhas’ remuneration for ‘Kalki 2898 AD.’
Prabhas, who gained immense popularity following the success of ‘Baahubali 1’ and ‘Baahubali 2,’ typically charges around Rs 150 crore per film. However, for ‘Kalki 2898 AD,’ it has been reported that Prabhas has taken a significant pay cut accepting only Rs 80 crore. This news came as a surprise to many, given the actor’s usual high fees.
‘Kalki 2898 AD’ features Prabhas in the role of Bhairava, a bounty hunter. Amitabh Bachchan plays Ashwattama, Kamal Haasan is cast as Supreme Yaskin and Deepika Padukone portrays SUM-80.
The film also stars Disha Patani as Roxie, Saswata Chatterjee as Commander Manas, Brahmanandam as Rajan, Bhairava’s landlord, Pasupathy as Veeram, a rebel from Shambhala, Anna Ben as Kyra, Shobana, Harshith Malgireddy, Rajendra Prasad and Keerthy Suresh as the voice of BU-JZ-1 alias Bujji.
Nag Ashwin, known for his innovative storytelling and directorial skills, has written and directed this epic film.
