The much-awaited movie “Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire,” starring popular actor Prabhas and Mollywood star Prithviraj Sukumaran, is all set to hit the big screens across India tomorrow in various languages.
Despite facing competition from “Dunki” and “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” “Salaar” is gearing up for a strong battle at the box office. With an impressive 70,000 tickets already sold before its release, the film has earned a remarkable $1.81 million from pre-sales alone in the USA, making it the highest-grossing Indian movie premiere in 2023 there.
Meanwhile, the movie needs to earn more than 160Cr in the Telugu states to break even. So far, only two films, both by Rajamouli, “Baahubali 2” and “Rs.,” have crossed the 150Cr mark in these states. “Salaar” aims to reach this range for a blockbuster status.
In “Salaar,” Prabhas takes the lead role, joined by Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu in significant parts. This film, produced by Vijay Kiragandur, marks the first collaboration between director Prashanth Neel and the pan-Indian star Prabhas. The movie is set to release on December 22 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
