The film ‘Gunturukaram’, featuring Mahesh Babu in the lead role, has received special permissions from the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The Andhra Pradesh government granted approval for an increase of 50 rupees on the movie tickets, based on the budget provided by the film’s producers. Jivo, the issuing authority, released these orders recently.
Following this decision, the maximum ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh’s single-screen theaters have now reached Rs. 205. Meanwhile, premium tickets in multiplexes will cost Rs. 235, and tickets for multiplex recliners will be priced at Rs. 355. These revised prices will remain in effect for a duration of 10 days after the movie’s release. However, no additional gaming or benefit shows beyond the regular screenings are permitted.
However, getting everyone’s attention earlier, for the movie ‘Salaar’, which was made with a substantial budget, the AP government had approved a just Rs. 40 increase in ticket prices. This decision had faced opposition from fans of Prabhas. Now, ‘Gunturukaram’ has been allowed to increase ticket prices by Rs. 50. So many are commenting on why the AP government is partial to Mahesh and not Prabhas.
The movie has also been granted significant permissions in Telangana, with benefit shows permitted at 23 locations. In this state, single-screen theaters can increase prices by Rs. 65, while multiplexes can raise prices by Rs. 100.
Advance bookings for ‘Gunturukaram’ have already commenced, with over 90 percent of the tickets sold out at various locations. Particularly, the early morning shows scheduled for 4 am and 5 am are completely booked.
