Naveen Yerneni, Tollywood producer, known for his association with the blockbuster film “Pushpa,” found himself entangled in legal troubles as the Jubilee Hills police included his name in an FIR related to an alleged kidnap and extortion case.
The case stems from accusations against former OSD to Task Force, P Radha Kishan Rao, who allegedly orchestrated the forcible transfer of shares of Kria Healthcare. Naveen was implicated in the affair for his alleged involvement in facilitating the hostile takeover of the firm, according to police reports.
The FIR, filed based on a complaint by Kria Healthcare’s founder Chennupati Venu Madhav, lists multiple individuals, including Radha Kishan Rao, inspector Gattu Mallu, and sub-inspector Mallikarjun, as well as four part-time directors of Kria.
Sources revealed that Naveen Yerneni had previously served as one of the part-time directors of the company, adding complexity to the ongoing investigation. In response, the police have formed special teams to delve deeper into the matter and gather additional evidence.
Naveen Yerneni co-founded Mythri Movie Makers in 2015, which quickly rose to prominence in the Telugu film industry. Following the success of their debut production “Srimanthudu,” the production house went on to deliver several blockbuster hits, including “Janatha Garage” in 2016 and “Rangasthalam” in 2018.
In 2020, Mythri Movie Makers struck gold with “Pushpa: The Rise,” which garnered widespread acclaim and commercial success nationwide. However, the recent legal entanglement adds a new chapter to Naveen Yerneni’s otherwise illustrious career in the film industry.
It’s worth noting that Mythri Movie Makers came under scrutiny by the Income Tax department in April 2023, further complicating matters for Naveen and his production house. As the investigation unfolds, the film producer finds himself navigating turbulent waters in the realm of both law and cinema.
