Pawan Kalyan rejected THIS hit film that made Nithiin a star
S. S. Rajamouli is one of the top directors in Tollywood known for delivering only blockbuster movies. Throughout his career, he has never had a flop making him a highly sought-after director. Any actor would love to work with him, as his movies guarantee success. However, one famous star hero once rejected a film offer from Rajamouli. Who is he and why did he say no? Let’s find out.
Rajamouli has directed several movies, all of which have been box-office hits. One such film was “Sye”, which starred Nithiin and Genelia in the lead roles. This movie, set in a college backdrop introduced the sport of rugby to Telugu audiences and became a massive success.
Interestingly, before finalizing Nithiin as the hero, Rajamouli had someone else in mind for the lead role. That actor was none other than Pawan Kalyan. When Rajamouli narrated the story to Pawan, he found the concept too different and immediately declined the offer. As a result, the role went to Nithiin, who was already riding high on the success of “Jayam” and “Dil”. With “Sye,” Nithiin completed a hat-trick of hits in his career.
Though Pawan Kalyan rejected “Sye,” the film went on to become a major milestone in Telugu cinema. It proved Rajamouli’s ability to bring fresh concepts to the industry and established Nithiin as a bankable star. Even today, fans wonder how the movie would have turned out if Pawan Kalyan had accepted the role.
Rajamouli’s success streak continues, and every actor dreams of working with him. While “Sye” was a missed opportunity for Pawan, he later delivered many hits in his career.
