Tollywood runs by the numbers. Cinema is no more an art these days. It is more of box office numbers. The likes of Rebel Star Prabhas and Iconic Star Allu Arjun are always on the top of the list as the highest-remuneration receiving stars.
With ‘RRR’ sweeping records worldwide, Ram Charan and Jr NTR too were added to the list because of the image that Rajamouli brought them. Not to forget, Megastar Chiranjeevi is getting slightly on the radar if not closer, with Rs 50 crore remuneration.
The industry is abuzz that Pawan Kalyan is weighing quite more for his upcoming movie with director Sujeeth. It is learnt that Powerstar is taking Rs 75 crore for this film. The movie is being produced by DVV Danayya. A part of the remuneration will be given to Trivikram for materialising the project. Half pay will go into the pockets of Dannayya. That means a total of Rs 175 crore is being invested in the film including the remuneration of Pawan Kalyan.
So the film will go on floors with a budget of not less than Rs 200 crore. And Danayya would get a profit of Rs 100 crore from the non-theatre business. Meanwhile, fans say that since Pawan Kalyan is a significantly big star in South cinema, he should be paid more remuneration compared to other actors. Some would take the example of actor Thalapathy Vijay who took Rs 100 crore for his film ‘Varasudu’ which was bankrolled by Dil Raju.
